e9 Final Project

For our final project, we were placed into groups based on our personality. We all created a product that people would want. Through out fourth quarter, we created a video, an animation, a graphic, and a website for the product. My group, P.I.M.I.J., created The D.E.W. (Daily Eyebrow Waxer). With our DEW, you would never have to pay for an eyebrow waxing again.

My group worked well with doing each of our specialties. But we could of done better assigning jobs. If we were to do it again, we would use our time to make a better video. We have all improved in our focus areas.

During our first rotation, we created this animation.

We made this video in our second rotation

In the third rotation, we made this graphic

Pepsi Logo

In class we learned about the meanings of different shapes in logos. To understand the logos we used an online tutorial to create a famous logo in illustrator.

I used this tutorial to make the Pepsi logo

And I used this video to make the Target logo

e9 Semester 1 Final - Website

For our final we made a website with dreamweaver. It isn't actually hosted so to show it off, I took screen shots. This project helped me to understand how websites are made and got me interested in web design.

Chase Scene

This was the second video that I made in video. I used the 6-shot system and the 180 degree rule. I also learned how to edit a video in final cut pro. When the class saw it they just said that it should be longer.

Personality

Today we did a personality quiz. Of the four animals, I scored highest as a lion.  Although I am an introvert,  I can take lead if needed.

They Loved Your G.P.A. Then They Saw Your Tweets

Be careful what you post on social media. Believe it or not, but colleges are now looking at social media posts. If they don't like what they see, you might not get into the college you want to.

More and more college admissions officers are looking at social media.

According to Times "Of 381 college admissions officers who answered a Kaplan telephone questionnaire this year, 31 percent said they had visited an applicant’s Facebook or other personal social media page to learn more about them — a five-percentage-point increase from last year."

If you want to get into the college you want, clean up your social media.

Animation Tutorial

I will be showing you how to create this animation in photoshop.

First, create a new 600x150 pixels document.

Then, write your name in your box with the text tool.

Right click on the layer and select "Rasterize Type".

Use the eraser and start erasing your name the reverse of how you would write it.

Continue until you have erased all of your name.

Click "Create Frame Animation" on the timeline.

Select the layers and in the drop down menu on the timeline, click "Make Frames From Layers"

Then select the frames and in the same menu, click "Reverse Frames"

This should make it look like your name is being written.

Next, click file, then save for web. Make it a GIF with no dither and save it.

Show your cool animation to everyone.

Ball With Arcs, Animation 2

For my second animation, I made a more complex bouncing ball. I used the squash and stretch method and the transform tool to make it more realistic. This taught me how to make longer and more complex animations.
